Detroit historian and author Nick Sinacori presents an open-air talk on the Jefferson-Chalmers area. Local history ranging from the rumrunning of the Prohibition era, to the Fisher and Garwood Mansions, to the Renegades take over of Angel Park and more will be discussed. Free, all ages.

Part 2: New Ceremony for the Old Skin

Eleni Zaharopoulos presents the second incantation of "New Ceremony for the Old Skin," an intention setting ceremony and obstacle course. 

The course will open at dusk and remain open until the sun sets. RSVP your participation in the ritual course by sending an email to lady@happyabandon.com or please plan to arrive at dusk. New Ceremony for the Old Skin is about a 30 minute experience and 18+.

Messages: Tree Frequency

"Tree Frequency" is an interactive installation by Kathy Leisen. 

It is now widely documented that trees communicate with each other. Some trees have taken an evolutionary step towards communicating with humans. Scientists have discovered the “tree frequency”, aka 88.1FM. Transmitting through a ‘sac’, it remains unclear what, exactly, they are saying. 

Radios will be on loan for visitors to experience the interactive installations broadcasting around the park.

Hosting seasonal workshops for creative writing, performance and social awareness, DPS engages and helps uplift the community with movements for the people, with the people.
